Sometimes nicknamed [I][[akkari~n|Akarin]][/I], Akari is supposedly the main protagonist of [[Yuru Yuri]]. However, as she is an ordinary person and often pales in comparison to the other characters, she is often bantered with her small presence and pushed into the background. Her friends often peg her character as having the ability to turn invisible and fire her '[[double bun|hair buns]]' like missiles. [[Toshinou Kyouko]] and [[Funami Yui]] are her childhood friends, while [[Yoshikawa Chinatsu]], [[Oomuro Sakurako]] and [[Furutani Himawari]] are some of her classmates.
