[b]綾波[/b] ([i]"Twilling Waves"[/i]) The personification of the Japanese destroyer [i]Ayanami[/i] in [[Kantai Collection]]. 11th of the Special Types, 1st of her own class. Character design by [[Shibafu (glock23)|]], voiced by [[Touyama Nao]]. h4. Appearance She and [[shikinami (kancolle)|Shikinami]] wear a brown version of the Fubuki-class [[serafuku]]. On her second remodel, her uniform becomes black with red stripes on white and she gains a searchlight. She has [[long_hair|long]] [[brown hair]] in a [[side_ponytail|sidetail]]. Said sidetail becomes as long as she is tall once in her [[Ayanami Kai Ni (kancolle)|second remodel]]. This sometimes leads to references to [[Gon-san]]. h4. History She is termed the "demon goddess" of the Third Torpedo Squadron (DesRon3) due to her performance in the Naval Battle of Guadalcanal, where she alone formed one 'prong' of a three-pronged attack. She assisted in the sinking of three destroyers (heavily damaging a fourth) and traded fire with [[South Dakota (Kancolle)|]] before she was severely damaged and sunk by [[Washington (Kancolle)|]]. h4.
