V1 Derived from the Tamil word "khari" (meaning 'gravy' or 'sauce'), curry is a generic term used to describe a variety of usually spiced dishes in South Asian cooking, especially Indian. In Japanese cuisine, it is usually eaten (and depicted in anime) as "curry rice," a portion of rice served with curry on top.
