The best-known globus cruciger today is probably the English "Sovereign's Orb":[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crown_Jewels_of_the_United_Kingdom#Orbs], one of the signature pieces of the crown jewels of Britain, which was parodied by "Monty Python":[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monty_Python] as the "Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch":[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rabbit_of_Caerbannog#Holy_Hand_Grenade_of_Antioch] in the 1975 comedy film [i]"Monty Python and the Holy Grail":[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monty_Python_and_the_Holy_Grail][/i]. The [[Kantai Collection]] incarnation of the British battleship HMS [i][[Warspite]][/i] carries a black iron globus cruciger as part of her rigging (with the cross in the form of a sword with a radar antenna attached to the pommel), presumably as a reference to the crown jewels (much as her mast is designed to resemble the Sovereign's Sceptre with Cross).
