V1 The Mauser Model Karabiner 98 Kurz, Mauser 98 Karabinier, Kar98k or more better known as the K98k was [[Germany]]'s main infantry rifle during [[World War II]]. This rifle is a carbine version that replaced the long and cumbersome Gewehr 1898 from [[World War I]] with a short, yet still lethally accurate weapon. The internal magazine held five 7.92x57mm rounds. The Model 1898 and K98k (as well as Belgian and Czech copies, which picked up the slack in the 1920s when the German arms industry was severely restricted) were both exported to many countries worldwide and have fought in many wars after World War II.
