[[Fukumoto Nobuyuki]]'s gambling manga and anime series, also called [i]Ultimate Survivor Kaiji[/i]. The titular main character, [[Itou Kaiji]], accidentally takes on the debts of a friend, and, lacking any other job because of the Japanese recession, is forced into perpetual poverty and desperate gambling schemes to stay one step ahead of the Yakuza collection enforcers.
