V1 A [[black hole]] in the Messier 87 galaxy. Famous for being the first black hole to be photographed, taken by the Event Horizon Telescope in 2017 and published on April 10th, 2019.

The image quickly became the subject of many [[meme|memes]], with artists creating [[personification|personifications]] of the black hole in a manner similar to [[Earth-chan]], or noting the resemblance of the image to anime eyes.

The black hole has since been named Powehi, a Hawaiian name meaning "the adorned fathomless dark creation" or "embellished dark source of unending creation."
