Latin: "[i]Struthio camelus[/i]":[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_ostrich] JP: ダチョウ (駝鳥) [i]dachō[/i] A species of flightless bird native to Africa, the ostrich is distinctive with its long, scruffy-feathered neck and powerful two-toed legs. Males have black body plumage with white accents; females are brown. Ostriches weigh 139–320 lbs and can run up to 43 mph. The only other extant ostrich species is the Somali or blue-necked ostrich, comparable in size. These two species are the largest birds in the world. h4.
