Central figure of Christianity, believed to be part of the Holy Trinity ([[yahweh|Father]], Son, and Holy Ghost). Adherents of Christianity believe Jesus was the 'begotten Son of [[yahweh|God]]' who was made incarnate of the [[Virgin Mary]], became man, [[crucifixion|sacrificed himself on the cross]] to 'cleanse' mankind of its sins, resurrected from the dead after three days, and ascended into Heaven. Islam, a kindred religion of Abrahamic roots, reveres him as a messenger and as the Messiah, but not as the Son of God. Some Mormons (a nontrinitarian restorationist sect) even believe that the ancient [[Aztec]] god [[Quetzalcoatl (mythology)|]] was historically [b]Jesus Christ[/b], who visited America in ancient times. Certain anime and manga series occasionally add their own interpretations of Jesus. One such example closest to the bible is [[Steel Ball Run]], but mostly based on Mormon interpretations.
