[b]Alan[/b] (Japanese), [b]Alain[/b] (English) Supporting character in the [[Pokemon XY (anime)|Pokemon XY anime]] series, and lead character in [i]The Strongest Mega Evolution[/i] side story arc. Alain is an aloof Pokémon Trainer seeking to defeat all Mega Evolved Pokémon with his partner, a Charizard that can Mega Evolve into [[Mega Charizard X]]. Initially an assistant to [[Augustine Sycamore]], he traveled with [[Mairin (pokemon)|]], a novice Trainer. He is working with [[Lysandre (pokemon)|]], who led him to believe he can protect Sycamore and Mairin by pursuing [[Zygarde]]. He later takes an interest in [[Ash Ketchum|Ash]] and his special [[Greninja]], and becomes one of Ash's central Kalos rivals. h4.
