A large complex of seven buildings in the Financial District of Lower Manhattan in New York City that originally stood from 1973 to 2001. More often referred to as the [b]Twin Towers[/b], in reference to its two tallest buildings, a pair of landmark buildings that stood there. The center was targeted as part of a terrorist attack on [[9/11|September 11, 2001]], leading to the destruction of the Twin Towers.
