V1 A shading technique that uses intersecting lines of varying densities to simulate varying levels of darkness. A lightly colored object will have few lines, whereas a very dark object may have so many lines as to be solid black. Crosshatching is a variant of simple [[hatching_(texture)|hatching]] and may have two or more directions in which the lines lie.
