A pattern where colored stripes alternate with white, producing white, lightly colored and dark squares where the stripes overlap. Commonly used in [[dress|dresses]] and [[tablecloth|tablecloths]]. The [[Kobeya uniform]] is notable for incorporating a gingham [[apron]]. Not to be confused with [[plaid]] which uses varying widths and/or multiple colors. h4.
