雛人形 (hina-ningyō) are ornamental dolls representing the Emperor, Empress, attendants, and musicians in traditional court dress of the "Heian period":en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heian_period. Displayed before and during the Hinamatsuri (Japanese Doll Festival, or Girls' Day) held on March 3rd.
