A character and main protagonist from the [[Kunio-kun series]]. [b]Kunio-kun[/b] (くにおくん) is a tough, brave and honorable high school Japanese boy expert in martial arts and street fighting. He wears a traditional white high [[school uniform]] (or [[gakuran]]) and black shoes. He first appeared in the [[Nekketsu Kouha Kunio-kun]] [[arcade]] [[video game]] from 1986. Kunio-kun (variously renamed "Alex" and "Crash Cooney" in the United States), was named after Kunio Taki, the former president of "Technōs Japan":https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Techn%C5%8Ds_Japan , the company that created the first game in the series. Kunio-kun also later became Technōs Japan's main mascot from 1990 until 1996, appearing on the company's logo in several games and in different Japanese television commercials.
