V1 Any of a number of communally shared Japanese dishes cooked in a clay or iron hot pot, right at the table. Diners dip in the components they wish into the shared broth and then retrieve them when they are cooked to taste. Nabe is frequently served with a dipping sauce ([i]tare[/i]).
