A recurring [i][[Ryuu ga Gotoku]][/i] character that debuted in [i][[Ryuu ga Gotoku 4]][/i] and returns in [i][[Ryuu ga Gotoku 5]][/i] as a playable protagonist. He is moneylender nicknamed "The Lifeline of Kamurocho". He originally was a banker until he became homeless due to being framed for a money embezzlement scheme. However, the events of [i][[Ryuu ga Gotoku 1]][/i] where [spoiler]the explosion of the Millennium Tower scattered large amounts of yen[/spoiler] allowed Akiyama to invest his money to build a fortune. Akiyama generally has a very laidback, unprofessional and disorganised personality, much to the chagrin of his secretary. He soon becomes a very close ally to [[Kiryuu Kazuma]], even helping his adoptive daughter [[Sawamura Haruka]] investigate and traverse across the dangerous idol industry in Osaka.
