h4. Appearance
In-game, she sports short hair|short blonde hair and blue eyes. She is shown wearing a bodysuit under a corset, collared white shirt and red necktie, white gloves, and an open jacket.
Her rig consists of four flight deck segments: two upper parts attached to the back and two lower parts jointed to the main rig with their own funnel.

She is also shown holding an F6F Hellcat, a reference to one of her skills.

h4. History
In real life, she was originally laid down as the Cleveland (Azur Lane)|-class light cruiser USS Buffalo (CL-99) but was ordered converted as a light carrier in mid-1942. She assumed the name Bataan in honor of the American-Filipino garrison in the Bataan Peninsula that surrendered just a few months prior after being besieged by Japanese troops.

Entering service in January 1944, she participated in the battle of the Philippine Sea and Operation Ten-Gou|Operation Ten-go.
Post-war, she served in repatriation duties and ultimately served in Korea.
