In-game, she sports [[short hair|short]] [[blonde hair]] and [[blue eyes]]. She is shown wearing a [[bodysuit]] under a [[corset]], collared [[white shirt]] and [[red necktie]], [[white gloves]], and an [[open jacket]].
Her rig consists of four flight deck segments: two upper parts attached to the back and two lower parts jointed to the main rig with their own funnel.

She is also shown holding an [[F6F Hellcat]], a reference to one of her skills.

h4. History
In real life, she was originally laid down as the [[Cleveland (Azur Lane)|]]-class light cruiser USS [i]Buffalo[/i] (CL-99) but was ordered converted as a light carrier in mid-1942. She assumed the name [i]Bataan[/i] in honor of the American-Filipino garrison in the Bataan Peninsula that surrendered just a few months prior after being besieged by Japanese troops.

Entering service in January 1944, she participated in the battle of the Philippine Sea and [[Operation Ten-Gou|Operation Ten-go]].
Post-war, she served in repatriation duties and ultimately served in Korea.
