The paramilitary branch of the Nazi Party. Generally recognized by the all black uniform, however most units did not wear the black SS uniform outside of Germany, instead wearing the field gray uniform of the Heer, army, or various fatigues with SS insignia such as the SS emblem and Totenkopf.
