Scientific name: "[i]Pica pica[/i]":http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eurasian_Magpie Other common names: Eurasian Magpie; European Magpie; Common Magpie Japanese: カササギ (鵲) [i]kasasagi[/i] A common bird in the [[Crow|Corvidae]] family, found throughout Europe and in much of Asia. There are many magpie species; use this tag for the Common Magpie, [i]Pica pica[/i]. The Common Magpie is black with a metallic green and violet iridescence; the belly and shoulders are white; the wings are black glossed with green or purple, while the primary flight feathers have white inner webs which are notable when the wing is open. The long, wedge-shaped tail is black, glossed with green and reddish purple. The legs and bill are black.
