V1 The Do-335 Pfeil ("Arrow") was a World War II heavy fighter built by the Dornier company for the German Luftwaffe. The inline dual-engine "push-pull" setup was much more efficient than standard side-by-side twin engine designs, such as found on the Messerschmitt [[bf_110|Bf-110]]. Armed with a 30mm Mk 103 cannon through the propeller hub and two 20mm MG151 cannons mounted near the wing roots, it followed the precedent set by fighters before it for carrying large anti-bomber cannons. Some variants also carried up to 1,000kg (2,200lb) of bombs in a doored bay in the center of the underside of the fuselage.

Though multiple prototypes were flown and its production priority was hastened by the "Jägernotprogramm":http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emergency_Fighter_Program, Allied bombings and corruption kept it from entering service.
