V1 A dish consisting of filleted [[fish]] or other [[seafood]] minced or ground, mixed with a starchy ingredient - seasonings or herbs are optional, and fried until golden. Usually featured in Asian cuisine, though there is an European variant which is similar to a [[croquette]].

This tag should only be used when the fish cake in question is identified as neither [[kamaboko]] nor [[chikuwa]].

Not to be confused with [[taiyaki]].
